Glaubenbielen Pass 1.jpg

Today is what my tour is all about - demanding but do-able, a challenging distance, extraordinary scenery, fabulous weather & friendly people. Fantastic!

I'll keep it short & sweet with my rapidly diminishing battery issues. 66.11 miles with 2 mountain passes: Glaubenbielen at 1611m and Schalleberg at 1167m. And, following a glass of wine with my mushroom risotto (courtesy of my trangia) and salad, I feel gooood!! And the weather is amazing. I'm sat outside in a vest top & it's nearly 9pm.

PHP (The Private Health Partnership) are raising money this week by running the PHP Olympics! This includes an Olympic breakfast & bouncy football?!!! I'm absolutely delighted to take part in the Tour de Lonnen which I hope will raise some additional funds. Guys, you have my mileage in the paragraph above.

Thank you for all your supportive comments regarding my 2 puddings yesterday!!

Cheerio until I can next get this phone juiced :-))). xxxxx

    1. Hi Andi

Well done! You're doing phenonimally well - amazing views and incredible stamina - keep it up. Your calorific treats are well deserved. Now how are your sideburns coming along?? Can you beat Bradley Wiggins' 3" sideburns?? Funnily enough on my way to work along the York cycle path all this week - very tame - no mountain views alas - I have spotted countless cyclists sporting yellow jerseys! The Andis and Wiggins have put cycling back on the map. You deserve a massage when you get your washing done too! Looking forward to your next pictures and you are doing really well...Marion xx

  2. Hi Andy,

It seems to be all it cracked up to be plus the wonderful weather - it must be great knowing you have some much time to relax and enjoy. We are experiencing a very short summer here at the moment - 4 days I think. Have you got your supply of Chunky Kit Kats?

Greetings and lots of support from all at the club. Several mechanicals on Sunday ride due to the large numbers out because of the unexpected good weather in UK (not trying to rub it in because I have read the earlier blogs about your mountain weather). We all rushed back from Knaresbrough for the end of the TdF - amazing. Today sounded like the sort of day that touring cyclists love. Glad you are enjoying it and using all the gear you are lugging up the mountains.

    John

  4. I didn't know you ever made the outside world in just a vest top before. It must have been at least 40degrees! Keep soaking in the experience. You are an awesome inspiration of determination with a little bit of madness thrown in there too! Thanks to Mary too for already being ready to give the Royal treatment to a very worthy trouper! Jan xx
