I'm actually writing this blog from inside a wash cabin at the campsite....weird! But I'm delighted to say I was able to buy the right adaptor whilst in Thun so I can blog again every day-hurrah! People must wonder what I'm doing as I wait for the phone to recharge!!
I've had such a lovely day off and what perfect weather. I thought I could have a lay in this morning but my tummy demanded breakfast by 7am (6am UK time so you know I'm not slacking!). I got lots of clothes washed & dried, quite a challenge when you usually move on every day so this felt a major achievement. And I've managed to get some fresh food whilst shopping - campsites tend not to sell this and it's now too hot to carry anything fresh. So I'm planning on a yummy stir fry for dinner. And, of course, I've been sightseeing in historic Thun which involved a bus journey and me not being able to speak the language. I cycle into French speaking Switzerland tomorrow, phew!
Your messages are just so amazing. Mum, glad to hear the stitches are coming out and that you're on the mend. Marion, it's great to hear from you, I know you'll be living this adventure with me. Mary, I'll have a think about food requests, my favourite hobby! 2 mini gas canisters please or 1 medium one if you are passing Decathlon! I wish I could carry more but at least they're lasting really well at the mo. Charlie, love the title of the book! Uncle Kev's, thank you for being in touch and love to you, Nan & Gramps. Janny, thank you for thinking I'm an inspiration, I don't feel it as I wobble up the hills purple faced, eyes popping out! I am getting my protein- lots of cheesecake!! Linda, love your comment about the calories escaping if you cut the pudding in half!! Great to hear from you John B on behalf of club members and glad you, too, had a sunny Sunday ride (finally!). Gus, it's back to the fun mountains tomorrow!! Jeanette, great to hear from you. Mandie, Joan, you'll be glad to hear I'm paying attention to my own advice and going soooo slowly up hills!
And lots and lots of luck to PHP for their fundraising Olympics this week, I know you'll all be having great fun!
I'm staying in a hotel tomorrow night in Fribourg. How civilised!

Hi Andi,
ReplyDeleteI cant believe I'm a blogger! Thanks for letting us know the mileage - I'm just going to go and buy the winning ticket now!
It was the PHP Olympic run today. I managed to get half of them to stop off at the halfway House with me and have a beer! Maureen was fuming as she was on the stopwatch!

I have the carpet man coming today with samples for the dining room, so very excited about that. I was a little nervous i have to say as everytime i get a new carpet down he seems to be having another addition to the family! Hall stairs and landing, he had twin boys!! He did say they were getting a nightmare at 5 months old and things only get worse he has been told, poor man!
We have lovely warm weather again a bit heavy though. i am hoping it doesn't rain!
Have a lovely day, enjoy the fabulous views and in a room tonight! i bet you sleep on the floor! Te He!!
Take care sweetie i will look forward to hearing about your adventures in the morning.
Lots of love

Day off - what's that all about?! Had to chuckle with your image of purple face and eyes bulging! I read this just after a Toby session so I had the same outcome :-) Updated Toby on your travels and he pulled a painful face when I mentioned the distances and climbs you are undertaking. Take that as total respect from Superman himself!! Gus, Kirsty and I are setting up a picnic to sit in Bushy park to watch the mens road race on Saturday. Lots of cheering whilst we sit comfortably relaxing and not enduring the burning legs!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the hotel - posh chick.

Hi Andi, PHP Olympics going well. John Benson won the marathon yesterday. We're getting nearer to our target of £1,000. Hopefuuly we'll get there by the end of the football tomorrow then the company will match it. Pleased to hear you've had a break and managed some sightseeing. Not long now before you can speak French and you'll feel like a native. Au Revoir Suex
ReplyDeleteHello Darling! Fab pics! Wish we were here... I don't know how you've resisted a dip head first in that lovely river. But when you describe the bottom pain I wish I were here but not cycling... you've got to have the bug! Well done you, though. I hope you keep on having beautiful sights and nice weather. Leeds has been dry -a tad sunny but murky, like it could thunder at any time... It's coming Saturday! Yepeedoo! Have a lovely night in a soft bed! Love. T
ReplyDeleteKeep up the blog and enjoy the hotel - luxury!! Make the most of the breakfast - hope they do veggie full English! Am also shocked about the vest - it must be 100 degrees.....
ReplyDeleteTake care and keeeeeep peddling (apologies to Bruce and Tess)

For anyone that has read this far down the page, Andi is desperately trying to update her blog but for some reason it won't post. Trying to give techie advice to an none techie (from a none techie) in between her cycle stops is proving fun! Normal service will resume soon - she is still enjoying the cycling and the sunshine shining down on her :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Andi it looks amazing, love looking at all your blogs, enjoy yourself and be safe, will be a few weeks before i can look again but mandie will keep me updated. love Joan
ReplyDeleteMorning!
ReplyDeletei was suprised when you hadn't posted your blog until i scanned down the page. i hope you get it up and tunning soon. i still thought i would woffle a bit though!
We watched the opening ceremony last night, i have to say it was really well done. The theme was our History and the torch at the end was wonderful, can't think of anyone else doing anything so clever.
The Queen had a part too at Buck Palace, she was in a room and Daniel Craig walked in, she just carried on doing something at the desk, then turned to say Sir Bond and a comment that i can't remember, but it was so well done and how lovely of her. The corgis were there as well. A lovely atmosphere all round i think.
We are going to Cribbs tomorrow as a try out for next weekend in London. It will be so busy with lots of people, i want to make sure i can survive the crush! good excuse for a shop i think!!
Another lovely day here, i hope you have the same and you get your blog to work.
Lots of love

Morning Andi! It will work again soon... Keep taking pictures! Love your pictures so far! Your Mum has put it very nicely, about the Olympic opening ceremony... But I am ashamed to say I could not keep up until the cauldron being lit up ... Full day at Green Flag -no that can't be it- and no good nights sleep - Yes that could make it as a bad excuse!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rides and you should make it to Mary soon? Monday is that right? Rudi is sending his best wishes although he told me he is not on your way...
Say Hi to Mary and Rene and a cuddle to Max from me... Hopefully I will meet up with them when they are in Leeds. Loads of Love. T.
Getting ready for the arrival of the pedal pusher tomorrow lunchtime - Rene is going to ride out to meet her in nearby Yvoire and they'll cycle back together. Not sure if Andi can read this or not but I've been baking.... can't have her missing out on a cake at the end of tomorrow's ride! I'm looking forward to attempting to get her to put her feet up for a day or two, wish me luck ;o)
ReplyDeleteMary
Morning Duaghter,
ReplyDeleteWe watched the bike race yesterday. The British team didn't respond when the breakaway happened and we never saw them again! Mark Cavendish was very rude to the poor interviewer from TV.
We watched the tennis in the afternoon Murrey/Murrey were playing, they crashed out as well! we thought we had better stop watching as we were jinxing the British teams!!
Cribbs today!! Can't wait to get out and about again, lots to look at and buy!! Fingers crossed my knee is ok, taking all painkillers with me to be sure.
Your ride today should be a lovely one, Lake Geneva always looks wonderful.
i hope you have a great time with your friend Mary, it will be nice for you both to have a catch up.
Hope to see you blogging again shortly
Lots of Love

ReplyDeleteWell done Andi. Make sure you feed her up Mary before she carries on!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone sends their love and best wishes Andi
